About June Campbell
I’m here on this blog because I have a sincere message for all those who have struggled with obesity throughout their lives.
I know how discouraging it is. I know how difficult the struggle can be. I know what its like to lose large amounts of weight, only to regain it again.
There were times when I gave up. I reached a point when I simply couldn’t face the prospects of doing it all over again, one more time.
But then my weight reached a point where my health was at risk. My physician had warnings about heart disease, which runs in my family, and about diabetes, which also runs in my family. I had friends who had already done permanent damage to their health through chronic obesity. I didn’t want that to happen to me.
I have heard people say that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. That really isn’t the definition of insanity, but it makes a good point. I decided that this time, I would take the weight off, but I would find a way to change whatever it was that continually lead me to regaining the weight.
I found a solution that worked for me. I discovered how to lose weight quickly and safely, and how to keep it off. Naturally, I observed an eating and exercise plan. People often focus on the “diet” that I used. I used Nutrisystem (www.nutrisystem.com), but the diet isn’t the point. Any healthy, safe eating plan will work, and exercise must be a component of that eating plan.
In my opinion, the key is to do something that will change the part of your mind that self-sabotages you. That’s the part of your mind that leads you to go on eating binges throughout your diet, or to regain the weight after you have lost some or all of the pounds that you want to say good-bye to.
Will power is not the answer. The thing that we call “will power” is actually two parts of your mind are doing battle with each other. Which will win? Will power usually leads to short lived wins, followed by disastrous eating binges where you regain all or part of what you have lost.
I decided that I had to find a way to get out of the “will power’ cycle and do something that would stop the self sabotage.
After some searching, I discovered and followed a couple of procedures and practices that changed my mind at an unconscious level. I combined Silva Method meditations with EFT tapping. the Silva Method is a powerful method of reaching the subconscious mind, and EFT tapping is a component of Energy Psychology that works with the body’s energy fields to literally create new neural pathways in the brain.
I cannot express my excitement and gratitude for having discovered these tools. They work for many, many thing other than weight management. They’re easy to learn, affordable (or free), and have no dangerous side effects.
Through using these tools, I rid myself of the inner resistance and conflict that goes along with deliberate weight loss.
It worked for me. It may work for you too. If you are saddened and dubious that you can ever live the life of a slim, fit person, I urge you to give this a try. It may well be the miracle for you that it was for me.
